Something to consider and would love to see the people form Land of Oz pipe in if they have any solid info. That is me, but with the discussion today, I even more reluctant to use it. I will so, that I know many on here use it and have had no issues what so ever, for me I do not see any gains and with regular oil changes, even less of a benefit. Just something that I felt I would pass on. Now would not expect some that have current issues with broken tranny and may be dealing with BD right now to say anything that could cause an issue or warranty dispute to say so on here. That said would be curious to see if any of the folks that have had transmission breakage on the Baker 6 speed had or are using Redline. I must emphasize that this is not saying the Redline HD could create problems and may be that allot of folks use it and just so happens that the ones the dealer recall having breakage had it in. However in my O&M that is the only spot that address synthetic at all. Do not know if they mean HD brand or any sythetic. Now this is not saying that RedLine will cause a problem, for he didn't know, just telling me what they have seen from his best knowledge.Īs mentioned before in my 05 O&M it specifically states that Big Dog does not recommend HD synthetic transmission fluid. He mentioned that when they work on one that has it in, it is very hard to get all the oil off and usual require some major scrubing in the cleaning tank.

He indicate that they seem to get 16-17 oz out while letting it drain for a while, then to help remove as much as they can, they use regular oil to help get the last out. He said he wasn't sure, and it may just be a concidence, but did mention that with the stuff being so thick and wanting to adhear to everything, that when they change tranny fluids with it in, it takes for every to get it out and usual they do not get it all out by itself. I never brought up the type of tranny fluid to him, but once he said that-I asked if he thought that may be the cause. He then went on to say that it seemed most of them had been using the Redline Shock Proof. He said that they have only had maybe 3 or 4 of the Baker 6 speeds break over the last few years. Anyway was talking to one of the service folks and I asked him if they had seen a trend of more and more tranny breaking. I just got back from my BD Dealer from picking it my new EHC.
